Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month. 1 in 4 women experiences this type of loss. It’s so hard, and so often we are told to just get up and try again. Our babies matter. If you’d like to do something to honor your babies or help out another mama who joins this awful club, we have different ways you can get involved. Our biggest need at the moment is boy outfits. We need to restock Sanpete and Southern Utah. This is the pattern we use most often. For boy outfits, add some length and a drawstring or elastic. The pattern PDF is in the Angel Gown tutorial. The instructions on making a boy outfit are in the Vest Pattern tutorial. Pattern PDF: https://www.7pinedesign.com/.../charity-sewing-how-to... Be Kind for Bodil!

Lydia here! It’s almost this sweet angel’s birthday! Bodil would be 3 this year! It’s crazy!!! Natalie asked me recently if I’d like to do anything with LeLou’s Angels to celebrate Bodil’s birthday…and all I can think of is a day of kindness. So, on August 26th, let’s all Be Kind for Bodil! Find someone that just needs a bit of kindness shown to them, and be their angel! Let us know in the comments who you found to help! We love you all!

Hats and Headbands

Our bereavement kits include a little hat for the baby.  Our little girl kits also include a headband.  Both of these are easy to make and are great no-sew ways to get involved.   Our hats are made out of 1", 2", 3", and 4" medical stockinette.  We connect them at the top with a clear hair tie to create the "pom-pom."  We then add a ribbon or other embellishments to the hats. Click HERE for the folder with instructions and downloadable PDFs in Google Drive. Our headbands are made out of different-sized microfiber tights or thin, soft elastic.   We cut the legs of the tights into 2" loops and give them a good stretch so the edges roll.   If you are using elastic, cut the elastic into 4.5", 6.5", or 8.5" strips.  Hot glue the ends of the elastic together.   Embellish the headbands with bows, flowers, jewels, buttons, etc...  Keep in mind that less is more.   Remember that these parents will only be dres...

Angel Bracelet Sets

Angel bracelets are a great no-sew option to get involved with LeLou's Angels.  We make a mom-sized bracelet and a baby-sized bracelet.  The baby is buried with their bracelet and the mom has hers as a small reminder of her sweet baby.   We have blankets, stuffed animals, bracelets, or jewelry sets, and sometimes we have keychains with our kits.  These come in sets of two.  The baby is buried with their blanket, stuffed animal, jewelry, or keychain.  The parents keep the other half of the set.  It helps them feel a connection to their angel and comforts them in times of sadness.   Bracelet sets are easy and fun to make.  We make them for the boys, too.  The bracelet is more for the mom than the baby, but we do what we can to make them masculine.   Click on HERE for the link to the PDF in Google Drive.   Thanks for helping us out and please email us any questions you have.  thelillypadproject@gma...

LeLou's Angels

It was a lazy summer afternoon in late August 2019.  We had family visiting from out of state and were spending the afternoon playing card games, eating popsicles, laughing, and having fun. My phone rang.  It was my Aunt Leslie.  I stepped outside and answered the phone.  She was heartbroken and crying as she let me know about my cousins and the loss of their sweet baby, Bodil.  She was full term and perfect.   I sat outside and cried.  I cried as I assembled the things for their bereavement kit.  I hate giving these to people, especially MY people.  My heart was broken for them. Lydia and Kellen were now members of this horrific "club."  This is the club that no one wants to belong to.  The price of admission is too much--it's sending your sweet baby back into the arms of our Heavenly Father and finding a way to keep breathing afterward.  While this club is one no one ever wants to join, it is a club that is inclusive and...

About Us

LeLou's Angels provide Southern and Eastern Utah's families of stillborn babies with burial clothing and bereavement kits.  We organize volunteers to create the clothing and keepsake items for the kits.  Everything is donated and provided to the grieving families at no cost.  Thanks for stopping by! Under Construction

Hey there!  Excuse our dust as we set up the blog.  We will be posting our free downloadable PDF patterns for outfits, blankets, hats, diapers, bracelets, headbands, and other items we make for our kits.  It's going to take a hot minute to get all the content posted, but hopefully, it streamlines the process of getting patterns and instructions out.  We are also hoping to put together some photo and video tutorials to help with the patterns.  In the meantime, we appreciate your interest, and please email us at thelillypadproject@gmail.com if you need patterns.
